Company portrait

The company has grown steadily since Thomas Pfanzelt Viehhandlung was founded in September 1990. It has proved itself a reliable partner for agricultural businesses in all sectors of the livestock trade, both at home and abroad. Since then, the company has established itself as a traditional family business and is one of Germany’s leading livestock trading companies.

Tim Pfanzelt and his wife Kira are the next generation of livestock traders to join the business. After completing his training as a livestock trader, Tim Pfanzelt first gained experience of the livestock trade in the USA in North Carolina, Statesville with one of the largest livestock trading families.  Since 2016, he has been helping to develop his parents' business in Spangenberg. Kira Pfanzelt has been providing accounting and administrative support to the company since 2016.

In 1994, the farm in Spangenberg underwent extensive reconstruction and renovation. The farm has been certified as an EU assembly centre since 1997, exporting breeding stock to several EU and third countries. Since then, exporting top quality breeding stock has become one of the company’s specialist areas of business.

Since beginning of 2017, a modern location in Witterda has been established. This location serves as a collective point for all transfers within Germany. Meanwhile the location has been transformed into the independent PSN-Vieh GmbH. Among other companies, PSN Vieh GmbH is therefore a trading partner of Thomas Pfanzelt Viehhandel GmbH.

June 2021 saw the construction of a modern new building for livestock trading operations with a domestic collection point at another location in Spangenberg. The collection point has state-of-the-art technology with bright, airy and well-ventilated stalls to ensure the livestock are housed in ideal conditions and are sorted correctly.
